We made an effort to recreate the scene.
This is a beautiful park, somewhat tucked away from the masses of crowds that flood Ravello's main square everyday. The type of place you find when you take a few minutes to explore.
A sign indicates the location of the filming. It states a quote from the director, John Huston: The entire film had a happy, carefree tone. The book deals with the adventures of a young English couple who falls into the clutches of a band of thieves. The film is full of eccentricity, the book is funny, but the script allows for even more humour and accentuates the absurdities. Watching the daily outtakes, Jack Clayton, Truman and I wondered if the others found it as funny as we did. The answer was 'no'.
