This bridge was built in 1917 with a patented reinforcement system designed by George M. Cheney. It has three concrete arches which span the narrow flowage of the Mississippi River. A more contemporary bridge now carries the majority of the automobile traffic, leaving this historic bridge primarily for bicycles and pedestrians.
