In Belmont, along Alewife Brook, is this set of boardwalks over open water and wetlands.
To get there, the easiest way to get there is to take the MBTA Red Line subway all the way to the western end at Alewife Station, then walk a short distance on the way along the Minuteman Bikeway to a path on the southwestern side of the brook. Turn left (west) on the southern side of the brook along another busy bike path and walk to the boardwalk.
The boardwalk is in several segments.
