In Mitten der Auenlandschaft des Dessau-Wörlitzer Gartenreiches sucht sich die Mulde ihren Weg zur Elbe. In ihrem Verlauf wird die Mulde häufig von Rad und Wanderwegen gequert. So auch an dieser Stelle. 
Die Jagdbrücke dient zur Überquerung der Mulde für Radfahrer und Fußgänger auf dem internationalen Radweg R1. Sie hat eine Länge von 82m und hat in der Mitte eine 6m breite Aussichtsplattform.

Die Brücke in der heutigen Form wurde 1993 errichtet.
