Located at the south end of Sparks High School football field is a bay window caboose painted in the school colors. Sparks High School are known as the 'Railroaders'. There's a small plaque that hangs on the north side of the caboose that reads:
CABOOSE SP 4637
PRESENTED TO SPARKS HIGH SCHOOL
BY
SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION CO.
AND
1993-1994 SPARKS HS BOOSTER CLUB
So, from this plaque we can deduce that this caboose has sat on this field since at least 1994 and the caboose was once operated by Southern Pacific Railroad. This caboose can be seen from the street and visitors should be able to visit it up close during daylight hours when the school gates are open.
