Near the southern tip of the Sandpoint City Park beach is a Statue of Liberty replica. On the concrete walkway leading out to it are three benchmark discs in a line down the centre of the walk. This azimuth mark is nearest the statue.

THE STATION IS A STANDARD US COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY (NOW NOS) DISK
STAMPED---COUGAR 2 1972---SET IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE CONCRETE PIER
LOCATED 68.58 METERS (225 FEET) SE FROM A COVERED PICNIC AREA AND
11.58 METERS (38 FEET) W FROM THE EAST END OF THE PIER.

REFERENCE MARK NO. 3 IS A STANDARD US COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY (NOW
NOS) DISK STAMPED---COUGAR 2 RM 3 1972---. IT IS AN AZIMUTH MARK
DISK WITH THE ARROW POINTING ABOUT 50 DEGREES NORTH OF THE STATION
SET IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE CONCRETE PIER AND LOCATED 5.18 METERS (17
FEET) W FROM THE EAST END OF THE PIER.

REFERENCE MARK NO. 4 IS A STANDARD US COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY (NOW
NOS) DISK STAMPED---COUGAR 2 NO 4 1972---SET IN A DRILL HOLE IN THE
CONCRETE PIER LOCATED 6.10 METERS (20 FEET) E FROM THE WEST END OF
THE PIER.
