Residing within Spark Memorial Park and next to the Sparks History Museum is a Police Memorial which contains a sculpture and plaque. The sculpture depicts a policeman holding a young girl in his arms as she tugs on his tie, with a grateful look in her eyes. The sculpture was cast by Frostad Atelier Foundry, based in McClellan, CA. I could find no information on the artist who sculpted this piece. It is possible this sculpture was created by the owner/artist of the foundry. In any event, the sculpture was added in 2008 during a much-needed renovation honoring past, present and future law enforcement officers who serve the Sparks community. There is a Firefighter Memorial nearby within the Park as well as Veterans Memorials. This Park provides a nice setting in the busy part of Sparks.
