January 2020 update - Mr. Smith passed away on July 23, 2019... but his collection lives on now at Texas Truck Yard in The Colony.
Hours
Sunday-Wednesday: 11am-Midnight
Thursday-Saturday: 11am-2am
The story is this: Barney Smith is a retired master plumber. His dad liked to mount trophy heads on plaques... so Barney reasoned that a toilet seat lid is shaped like a plaque, and a used one is free, thus an unusual hobby was born. Each seat has its own them from states, careers, events, his birthday, etc. The "museum" was the old single bay garage where they hung. Barney was very enthusiastic about his collection. After you sign the main log book, he had you sign each seat that you have something in common. For me, it was Tennessee, geocaching, and Eagle Scouts.
This place is a hoot to see the themes.
