From www.asu.edu/carillon:

"Located in the lower level of Old Main, next to the Emeritus College; speakers located on the Memorial Union and the Durham Language and Literature Building.

Clock Strikes: On the hour, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., except noon.

Music at 5 p.m. [including ASU's fight song, "Maroon and Gold"], daily. Live concerts as announced."

The carillon was made by Maas-Rowe, one of only 100 made by that company: "ASU's Symphonic Carillon, which has 148 bells, is played with a keyboard much like a pipe organ. The carillon system also can play CDs of carillon recordings."

Since the carillon can be heard all over campus thanks to the placement of the speakers, it is very popular. It wasn't always so, however: for years it was "lost," not seen since 1970; put into storage although it had only been installed in 1967. It was rediscovered by an ASU staff member in 2002 and the campaign to restore it began. It was rededicated in 2005 and housed on the third floor of the Memorial Union. A fire in 2007, however, put the carillon in storage again until it was moved to Old Main in December 2009 and played once again. ASU's Carillon Club is now in charge of playing and maintaining the carillon.

Coordinates are for the Old Main entrance nearest the carillon.
