Andrew Taylor Still, physician and founder of osteopathic medicine was born here in a log cabin on Aug. 6, 1828. The cabin now stands on the campus of Kirksville College of Osteopathy and Surgery in Kirksville, Missouri. The first American school of osteopathic medicine founded by Dr. Still in 1892. Dr. Still, a veteran of the War Between the States, died at Kirksville on December 12, 1917.
The college is now known as A.T. Still University (ATSU). The log cabin remains on display inside their museum. (
