Das Schloss befindet sich auf einem Burghügel. Einst gelangte man auf diesen Hügel nur über die Brücke, da der Graben mit Wasser gefüllt war. Die Burg selbst wurde im 13 Jh. gebaut. Heute stehen aber nur noch die Mauerreste. Im Schlussturm wurde in den Kriegszeiten als Zufluchtsstätte genutzt. Heute kann der Turm als Aussichtspunkt bestiegen werden.
Das barocke Schloss selbst wurde während der Residenz des Herzogs August von Sachsen-Merseburg-Zörbig (1681-1715) errichtet und wird heute als Kultur- und Bildungszentrum der Stadt Zörbig mit Heimatmuseum, Bibliothek sowie Bürger- und Vereinsräumen genutzt.
The castle is located on a hilltop castle. Once you got on that hill just over the bridge, since the trench was filled with water. The castle itself was built in the 13th century. Today only the ruins stand. In the final tower was used in times of war as a refuge. Today, the tower can be climbed as a lookout. </ P>
The baroque castle itself was built during the residence of the Duke August of Saxe-Merseburg-Zoerbig (1681-1715) and is now used as a cultural and education center of the city Zoerbig with its museum, library and civic and club rooms. </ P>
