Tracks of Times - Chickasha, OK - Abstract Public Sculptures on Waymarking.com

As you drive into the Rock Island depot area, you pass this unusual sculpture. It stands within a circular brick and concrete bench area. The outer bench is approximately 18 ft. in diameter, with a center bench about 7 ft. in diameter.

This is a stainless steel sculpture which measures 10 ft. x 20 ft. x 10'2". At first it appears to be a depiction of the wings of a bird, but by its title, "Tracks of Time" you see that the wings are actually railroad tracks, and perhaps the simulation of flight still applies.

The artists are Archie Held, Dustin Boise, Kolbe Roper and Eric Baker. This sculpture can be found on the Archie Held Studio website: (visit link) A large bronze plaque at the site reads: "Chickasha Area Arts Council gratefully acknowledges our supporters of this project..."and lists the names of 17 financial sponsors.
