The Hyde School architectural style is Romanesque Revival. Lee Academy was originally a private institution and ownership was transferred to the town of Lee and became its public grammar school. That school was destroyed by fire in 1994 and the current building was built in 1895 as a replacement. It served the school system in Lee until 2003. Today it is known as Crossway Village, a senior housing complex and senior center.
