A father and son Krause were the master carpenters who constructed this commercial building which is now over 100 years old. Business has been photography, general store, concerts and singing societies, militia drill hall, and now Fifty Foot Marketing & Design shop. (visit link)

Marker Text:
Built about 1860 by master carpenter Friedrich Krause, of hand-cut native cedar, cypress, limestone, and adobe brick. Once Weber & Deutsch store, Hoffmann Opera House,and drill hall for Clement's Rifles of Texas Militia. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, 1968 Stamped in base: Renovation in 1966 by Richard Dedeke Family.
