The Saint Cecilia Parish was first established in 1930 however as time dwindled to modern days, a partnership was necessary and in 1992, the parish partnered with Saint Hedwig in Smock, two miles away. A few years ago, due to further diocesan restructuring, Saint Hedwig merged with Saint John the Baptist in Perryopolis, resulting in Saint Cecila merging into its current status with Saint Peter in Brownsville, three miles away,
