The Palau Sant Jordi was built in the 1990's just for the 1992 Olympic games. It was here that the handball and basketball courts were housed to host the Olympic events for. In addition for hosting those events, other events such as gymnastics and volleyball were also held inside this venue. It's a no brainer why this was featured on the reverse side of the 20,000 peseta coin in 1992.
