The two-storey building at Ryrie Street was erected in 1878 for Geelong grocers Richard Clarke and Co,the rendered brick store was designed by Alexander Davidson and combines elements of French Romanesque and Byzantine Architecture The building is of rendered brick with a slate roof and when opened it had an extensive cellar with a hydraulic lift servicing the upper floors.
The building is now used by a real estate company
