This fountain sprays incredibly fine jets of water that create a mist in effect.

The jets of the fountain are set flush into the paving stones and are not switched on all the time.
When they do come on the jets are so fine that it looks like there is a mist floating over the square. It looks similar to the dry ice effect used in stage shows, but just done with plain water.
Splash fountains are very popular with children who love to run through them, less so with adults who are usually more concerned about getting their clothes wet.
However the affect on people when this fountain comes on is amazing, and everyone rushes towards it - adults and children alike. The mist is so fine that it's possible to walk through it without your clothes getting very wet. On a warm day it's very cooling.
The fountain is located on the plaza near to the parliament building.
