Lily Emily McKay nee Hockridge. Grandmother of Mrs Blingg. Born in the samll town of Pitfield on the Ballaarat goldfields, the family moved around the area. Her mother died when she was 12yo and her father married an older woman who had 7 sons the following year. Later they moved to Geelong to take over the licence of the Great Western Hotel. In 1924, Lily married Raymond McKay and moved into his house in French St Geelong West. Ray died in 1957 and Lily continued to live alone in the house until 8 days short of her 100th birthday when she fell and broke her hip. She celebrated her 100th birthday in Geelong Hospital. She moved into care soon after and died 18 months later. When she died she had 2 children, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
