A recently released prisoner, Chuck, is offered a job by pet shop owner Martin Blueck. Behind the pet shop Blueck keeps dangerous animals such as tigers and panthers. He has them inside electrified cages. The animals are too afraid to leave the cages and know that the current is turned off at feeding times. Blueck has trained them to know when it is safe to feed.
Chuck notices a safe at the shop and tries to open it. Unfortunately the safe is a trap used by Blueck to capture Chuck in a human cage. Like the animals Chuck is in an electrified cage and has to learn when he can feed. This is part of ex Nazi Blueck’s experiment.
Chuck’s wife Annie is concerned when Chuck does not come home and sneaks into the pet shop in search of him. She too is lured into the cage with Chuck. By lots of observations Chuck and Anna work out how to avoid the electric current and escape from the cage and return home. Unfortunately when they are inside their home they realise that Blueck has electrified their home whilst their away.
In a bizarre twist to the plot a Panther gets out of its cage and pursies Blueck. Blueck falls into his own human cage and is trapped.
