The Old Academy building was constructed circa 1798 with addition and cupola added circa 1811. The two-story brick building was constructed by Peter Crowding in a plain style common for educational buildings of the era. The old building is in excellent condition and is used by the adjacent Immanuel Episcopal Church for Sunday school classes.
