While Chandler names some N-S streets after states, and some E-W streets after cities, none of the other cities represented meet their home state except at this intersection. This stretch of California dead-ends at Oakland. The intersection is at the south boundary of Chandler's Hoy Homes neighborhood.

Oakland, California, is located on the east side of San Francisco Bay, and is a major West Coast port. Its name comes from the oak trees that used to cover the area where it now stands.
