Die Prelle
Die Prelle war eine so genannte Ehrenstrafe und gehörte zu den
Wasserstrafen.
Diese Strafe fand vor allem bei Bäckern Anwendung, weshalb man
auch von der Bäckertaufe oder Bäckertunke sprach.
Das Gewicht der Semmeln und des Brotes war von der Obrigkeit
vorgeschrieben.
Hatte ein Bäcker zu kleine Semmeln oder Brot mit Untergewicht
verkauft, so galt das als Betrug.
Er kam dann in den Bäckerkäfig eines Wippgalgens in den Fluss,
entsprechend der fehlenden Gewichtsmenge mehrmals unter Wasser
getaucht.
