One of the largest soccer stadiums in the world, the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium can fit over 80,000 people at any given time. Real Madrid is located here, the soccer team for the capital city. Fifa world cup was held here for the 1982 world finals. An expensive expansive project is underway to add 4,000 more seats to the stadium costing over 400 million euros. It first opened in 1947 and has been growing popularity ever since.
