The Shoalhaven River is only a short paddle away & offers broad reaches & protected waters close to the banks. Paddling upstream will bring you to the Bamarang Weir & the end of your journey. Downstream depending how keen you are could take you to the mouth of the river but most people just go as far as Nowra & then return.

The river is tidal so you need to check the tides. It is used by powered craft towing skiers so best to stay out of the main channel & stick close to the banks.

An ideal introduction to canoeing for families.
Parking/put-in/launching information:
A large parking area with a blue metal pathway leading to the cement launch facility.

Other information:
You will see farmland, cliffs & mountains. If you go as far as Nowra then city scapes. Fishing is quite good with fresh & salt water varieties.
