The Pembroke Mill, also known as the Emerson Mill, was the built on the site of two previous mills. The first one built in 1811 by the Pembroke Cotton Factory Company and was replaced by a second one which burned in 1859. This was the first and smallest of the mills built by the Suncook Manufacturing Company and employed 225 people producing 110,000 yard of cloth per week. In the 1950's the mill was bought by the Emerson Furniture Company. It is now a condominium complex.
