A small red ear slider turtle survived his crossing of FM 934 in rural Hill County this afternoon, thanks to the efforts of one waymarker.

Our friend was just a few feet away from his goal, the north side of the Farm to Market road, but this is a fairly busy highway, near County Road 1449, and judging by oncoming vehicles, he wasn't going to make it. Scooped up and relocated to the brush, hopefully, he kept on going.
