The Asa Moore Janney House at 330 East Main Street is one of Purcellville’s most intact pre-Civil War buildings. Janney, a blacksmith and wheelwright whose shop once stood to the west of the house, built this two-story, frame structure in the late 1840s. A later deed describes it as a “frame house built between two large, field-stone chimneys.”

- Historic District Nomination

The house appears to be in excellent condition and continues to serve as a private residence.
