The memorial was likely placed by the Royal Canadian Legion former St Vital Branch 16 which was located 500 metres south of here at 554 Street Mary's Road. In recent years, they merged with the Fort Rouge Legion to form the Winnipeg South Osborne Legion.

Description of Memorial: The memorial is a black granite vertical slab with a grey granite slab on each side. These vertical slabs are on a grey granite tier which is on top of two concrete tiers.
