Der Spielplatz am Fockeberg besteht seit Ende der 1980er Jahre. Anfang der 90er Jahre wurde er vom damaligen Betrieb für Beschäftigungsförderung recht aufwändig ausgebaut. 2010 wurde er im August frisch saniert der Öffentlichkeit erneut freigegeben. Die Sanierungsarbeiten waren notwendig, weil aufgrund der starken Nutzung und des feuchten Baugrundes im Auewald seit Ende der 90er Jahre aus Sicherheitsgründen einige Spielmöglichkeiten gesperrt und abgebaut werden mussten.
Ein besonderer Blickfang sind die bunt bemalten Spielmöglichkeiten des Leipziger Künstlers Michael Fischer-Art. Dieser hatte zwischen 2003 und 2005 mit Hilfe von Sponsoren eine Wippe, eine Schaukel und das berühmte trojanische Pferd aufgebaut. Tief im Buddelkasten lagern zusätzlich geheimnisvolle Platten mit „trojanischen“ Schriftzeichen für kleine Archäologen.
Ein Familienausflug eignet sich außerdem zum Waldspaziergang an den der Spielplatz grenzt, und der darin enthaltene Fockeberg mit einer wundervollen Aussicht über die Stadt Leipzig.
Auch Geocacher werden hier und da in der Nähe etwas für sich finden.

The playground at the Fockeberg existed since the late 1980s. Beginning of the 90s, it was quite complexe developed by the former operation for Employment Promotion.
In August 2010 it was freshly renovated released again to the public. The restoration work was necessary, because it was locked since the late 90s for safety due to heavy use and the moist subsoil in the floodplain (Auewald).
A particularly eye-catching are the brightly painted play opportunities by the Leipzig artist Michael Fischer-Art. He built between 2003 and 2005 with the help of sponsors a seesaw, a swing and the famous Trojan horse. Deep in the sand box store additionally mysterious plates with "Trojan" character for small archaeologists.
A family trip is also useful for a forest walk, because the forest borders the playground, and the Fockenberg contained therein with a wonderful view over the city of Leipzig.
Also geocachers will find here and there near the playground something for themselves.
