Little Fresh Pond, Fresh Pond Reservation - Cambridge, MA - Off-Leash Dog Areas on Waymarking.com

In Cambridge, within the Fresh Pond Reservation, is a place designated as a dog off-leash area known as Little Fresh Pond.

To get to the location, find legal parking some where (most are on-street parking on area roads such as Huron Avenue), then walk to the southwest side of Fresh Pond to the place marked by the waymark (there is no central parking area). The way there is all pathway which is for people and animals and requires the dog to be on leash. At a fountain about a tenth mile north there is a water bubbler with bowls at human and dog level.

The area is a treed spot with places to sit and a short beach for the dogs. Signs at the spot mark it as off-leash and list the rules. They are summarized as follows:

- No more than three dogs per person and with valid Cambridge licenses (sorry, out-of towners).
- Dogs stay within sight and are obedient
- Keep dogs out of the restoration areas.

At the time of visit, there were a few people and dogs enjoying the area.

I know of no washrooms by the swim area. Washrooms may be available at the municipal golf course about a quarter mile southeast of the area.
