Located within the John F. Fleming Memorial Park is a small, weathered plaque and monument that reads:

Unfortunately, the rose garden that once resided here near this plaque has been replaced with grass. I also tried to do some online research on Herb Chaney and the only information I could find was a death notice for him under the name 'Herbert Milton Chaney, 94 years of age, from Rogue River'. Herb was obviously a noted citizen of Rogue River before his passing and this memorial is all that is left here to remember him by.
