Almost all of the sculptures in Oslo's Frogner Park (there are approximately 150) are by Gustav Vigeland. This is just one of them and is located on the eastern side of the central bridge at the northern end. It differs from almost all the others in that it has a depiction of a creature that is not human and it is set atop a column. The column is at the northeast side of the bridge that has many of the Vigeland sculptures. Here Vigeland depicts a man struggling with some type of reptilian monster.
Unfortunately, none of Vigeland's works have placards which inform us of a title for the piece...and the poster of this Waymark was unable to find a catologue online. The name of the Waymark will be amended if additional information comes forth indicating the work's true title.
Vigeland constructed the sculptures from 1924 to 1944...but again, there is no information at the site about each individual piece's date.
