In 2009 a male falcon was regularly seen perching on the spire of norwich cathedral, the second highest in the country. Later a female joined him and the pair returned the next year. In 2011 members of Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service helped install a nesting platform 75 metres above ground on the outside of the tower. Eggs have been laid every year since and many young have successfully fledged.
The Hawk and Owl Trust operate a viewing site from the nearby Cathedral Close where birding scopes and screens showing the web cam can be used to view the proceedings.
