This road was used to link the capital of Spain to Castilian-Manchego. The wikipedia entry is in Spanish only, so I Google translated most of it to, "La Calle de Toledo is an urban motorway of Madrid (Spain), ancient port of different goods and food from the province to the town of Madrid. The street begins in the Plaza Mayor, arrives to the Puerta de Toledo (1817-1827 ) and continues until the Glorieta de Pyramids where it ends, joining the Toledo Bridge. Its name comes from Toledo driveway to the city from the Castilian-Manchego capital."
