Památník se nachází kousek od cesty nad Krtinským udolím. Místo je krásné predevším svými mohutnými stromy.
Josef Decrett byl slovenský lesník který zavedl nové metody do lesního hospodárství. Zavedl prukopnické cílené zalesnování vykácených ploch.Do té doby se odlesnování bránilo jen úredním omezováním težby dreva a zákazy pasení koz na holinách. Zalesnování jinak, než prirozenou cestou bylo neznámé. Decrettovi se podarilo prosadit plánovitou výsadbu a sám ji aktivne provádel.

The memorial is located a short walk from the road above Krtinským valley. The place is beautiful especially for its massive trees.
Josef Decrett the Slovak forester who introduced new methods in forestry. He led the pioneering targeted reforestation of cleared ploch.Do then Deforestation prevented only official reducing logging bans and herding the clearings. Afforestation other than a natural way was unknown. Decrettovi managed to push through the planned planting and actively implement it himself.
