This statue is located right outside the main entrance to the Museo del Prado, where many of his paintings are on display. He lived from 1746 to 1828 and is a native Spaniard. His most famous paintings, which are on display in this museum are The Third of May, The Nude/Clothed Maja, and others. This is a tribute to the man that defined Spanish painting to the rest of the world.
