Another early building is the former Purcell House and Store that stands at 131-133 East Main Street.  This early-to mid-19th century structure consists of several sections that were built at different periods.  The earliest log section may date to circa 1815 with mid-to-late 19th century additions.  Valentine Purcell, the area's first postmaster, lived and worked here.

- Historic District Nomination

The house appears to be in very good condition.  There is a plaque indicating a possible earlier construction date of circa 1790.  The building is now used for a design and construction company
