Along the historic Hwy 99 is the Sardine Creek Bridge, constructed in 1938. This is one of many older, concrete bridges that were built in the 1920s and 1930s along this stretch of highway between Medford and Grants Pass.

There are two bronze plaques located at the NE and SW corners of the bridge that read:

SARDINE CREEK BRIDGE

BUILT UNDER
CO-OPERATIVE AGREEMENT BY
THE UNITED STATES BUREAU OF
PUBLIC ROADS
OREGON STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION
MOUNTAIN STATES CONST. CO.
CONTRACTOR
1938

This bridge has held up very well after all these decades of motorists traveling over it. There are a number of cracks in the concrete railings with the ornaments. I was also surprised to see that this bridge was not replaced during the Oregon Bridge Project in the late 1990s and early 2000s when most Oregon bridges over 40-50 years of years were replaced.
