Built by David Lyons who had a cabinet shop per historical records. Lyons was also in the undertaking business. He sold the house to William B Hale, the first cashier of the Conway Bank, right next door. The house was sold to John D Todd, the first president of the new Conway National Bank. In 1873 the house was sold to Marshall Field of Chicago fame, who was born in Conway.
