Built in 1878 after a fire totally destroyed the previous building the Conway National Bank bought the property from the insurance company.

The Conway Bank was chartered in 1857, reorganized in 1865 as the Conway National Bank was pioneer among financial institutions in Franklin County. The Conway Savings Bank occupied the second floor starting in 1887 until 1973. The Conway National Bank merged with the Shelburne Falls National Bank in 1973. In 1984 banking operations ceased at this location to the disappointment to the local folks of Conway.
