As was often the case, a community would build a single building that served as a school house for 5 days of the week, a church on one day of the week, and possible a community center on another day of the week. Often the church was a "union church" which had pastors from various denominations preach on a rotating basis each week of the month. This building, Banks School, ended up being used as the Lynn Church of Christ before it finally was abandoned.
