Neo-Romanesque complex of the former Convent of Merciful Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo (klášter milosrdných sester sv. Karla Boromejského) is one of principal landmarks of town Frýdlant nad Ostravicí.
The Convent complex, also called "Bedrichuv ústav / Friedrich's Institute", is the largest and the most valuable architectonic monument of Frýdlant. The Convent, founded by Archbishop of Olomouc cardinal Friedrich von Fürstenberg in 1871, was estabilished as school, where Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo order will educate daughters of Olomouc' Archiepiscopate foresters and officers. The convent building with two side avant-corps has dominating element in the middle of its front facade - the monastic chapel, copy of St. Paul Basilica in Rome. Nowadays, after reconstuction, the complex serves as a retirement home .
