The Simon Benson House is now located at 1803 SW Park Avenue facing the Park Blocks at Montgomery Street. Originally on a lot (1504 SW 11th Avenue) facing The Old Church, Benson's house was moved in early 2000 to house the offices of the PSU Alumni Association. The Queen Anne-style house was built in 1900 and was the Benson family home until 1912.Drinking Fountain "Benson Bubbler," Bronze, A.E. Doyle, 1917. One of 20 original fountains given to the city by Simon Benson, lumberman and philanthropist, in hope that citizens would turn from alcohol to water to quench their thirst. A gift used and appreciated over the years. There are currently 60 "Benson Bubblers" located throughout Portland. Instructions for logging waymark: A photograph is required that shows you (or your GPS receiver, if you are waymarking solo) and the Simon Benson House.
