Built in 1880, there are only two buildings left at Fort Missoula which are older - the powder house and the nearby NCOs' quarters, both built in 1878.

A small square building with hipped roof, this building would today be much too small to house any vehicle but a Smart Car. It stands along G Road within feet of the NCOs' log building.
