The Look-Out tower #6, a Folsom Prison Guard tower, was replaced by a newer version, and this one was placed in the yard of the Folsom Prison Museum. The Museum and its front yard full of prison artifacts is located just steps from the East Gate of old Folsom Prison.

The tower served as a guard tower from 1915 to 2003. It was located on the west side of Folsom Prison on the banks of the American River. See the plaque photo for more details.

There is a guard shack near by and staff is generally willing to take your picture near the prison gates or this guard tower.

There are no stairs that allow you to enter the tower. You can merely view it from the museum yard.
