In Needham, at the intersection of Highland Avenue and West Street, is the Heights Common.

The common is located at the center of the Needham village of Needham Heights, and is bounded by Highland Avenue, West, and Avery Square. The square plot is roughly 150 ft square and has sidewalks leading to a flagpole. There is a tall evergreen tree on the common which is decorated with lights in the winter.

Surrounding the park is the MBTA Commuter Rail Needham Heights Station to the west, the Avery Crossing Senior Center to the south, stores to the east, and a gas station to the north. Avery Crossing is on the site of the former factory and headquarters of William Carter and Company, which was founded here and became the leading company on childrens clothing.

It's a nice place to wait for the next train to arrive!
