Madore on the road near the intersection of Route 141 , is the cemetery of Bellows family. Surrounded by a wrought iron fence , it now includes 11 tombstones dating from 1826 to 1922 . The oldest tombstone belongs to John Bellows (Sr) died in March 1826.

This man was one of the first pioneers to settle in the region. Born in Dalton , Massachusetts , John Bellows emigrated first, his wife Rachel and his son John Bellows Jr, Hancock , Vermont in 1788 where he was also a pioneer . It is then in 1801 he moved with his family in Barnston .

His son , John Jr., was an influential man in the township of Barnston . In 1806, at the age of 17, he bought his first land. Married first to Sarah Sutton he had no children , he became a widower in September 1843. Few months later , he married Ruth Wadleigh , herself a widow. They have a daughter named Sarah , born in September 1844 and a son , Samuel , who died in the spring of 1853 at the age of 5 years.

John Bellows Jr will during his life justice , a senior member of the Baptist Church Barnston and a supporter of temperance ( Kesteman , TF, p.42).
A large obelisk adorned with a bible is the tomb of John Bellows , Jr., died in August 1869. Beside him is installed in memory of Sarah Sutton, his first wife tombstone imposing . There are few stones in the cemeteries of the Coaticook MRC because of the high costs associated with their manufacture and installation.
The cemetery been a number of transformations , inter alia, the reduction of its perimeter. The last body to be buried in the cemetery is that of Sarah Bellows, daughter of John and Ruth Wadleigh Bellows Jr , died Sept. 8, 1922 .

Ils auront une fille nommée Sarah, né en septembre 1844 et un fils, Samuel, qui mourut au printemps 1853, à l’âge de 5 ans.
John Bellows Jr sera au cours de sa vie juge de paix, un des doyens de l’église baptiste de Barnston et un partisan de la tempérance (Kesteman, TF, p.42).
Un grand obélisque orné d’une bible est le monument funéraire de John Bellows Jr, décédé en août 1869. À ses côtés, se trouve une imposante dalle funéraire, installée en souvenir de Sarah Sutton, sa première épouse. On retrouve peu de dalles dans les cimetières de la MRC de Coaticook en raison des coûts élevés associés à leur fabrication et à leur installation.
Ce cimetière a fait l'objet d'un certain nombre de transformations, entre autres, la réduction de son périmètre. Le dernier corps à être inhumé dans le cimetière est celui de Sarah Bellows, fille de John Bellows Jr et Ruth Wadleigh, décédée le 8 septembre 1922. (voir GC3GXGT)
