In Farmin Park along Main Street in Sandpoint is a town clock. Below that clock are two animals, one taking it easy on the lawn while the other plods steadily along - The Tortoise and the Hare.

Bronze animals, that is, crafted by artisan Tammy Farmin and done in memory of Bob Lindemann, "A man who chose to pace himself through life".
One of Aesop's Fables, the story is one of competition between unequal competitors. The two figures which comprise the work are done in a manner which portrays perfectly the personality of each as related in the fable, with the hare lazing in the grass while the tortoise plods unendingly along on his course.
