A high water mark for the Yellow River, located at the world heritage Longmen Grottoes

This high water mark is located next to the walking path along of the West hill Longmen Grottoes, close to Luoyang, China. The marker is about 3.5 meters over ground, fixed on the rocks. It shows two high levels only, whereas the highest level dates back to 1982 only.
In addition to the year and the water level, the marker plaque states also how many litres of water per second streamed down the Yellow River while the flood was high.

Note: As the marker is inside the grottoes area, it is not freely accessible. Entrance fee for the Longmen Grottoes is about 125.- RMB
